Nectarines for Grown Ups

I worked with photographer Todd Zawistowski to find the best natural light to shoot a monthly In Season column for Traverse, Northern Michigan's Magazine. The  window facing west in my small kitchen, which Todd Z. dubbed "The Magic Window," won out nine times out of ten.

I love the polka-dot napkin, actually a quilting fabric square I picked up at Jo-Ann Fabrics. The idea for the recipe came to me while on a kick making spiked fruit desserts, like bananas foster and muskmelon marinated in port.
